Investigation of structural damages, design and implementation of rehabilitation of Shahid Shahmoradi Bridge

Unfortunately, due to the poor construction and the effect of various environmental impacts on the structure, the column capitals P14 and P17 of this bridge had shear cracks. Since capitals are one of the important members in transferring loads from the flat slab to the columns, creating cracks and subsequent damage in them can cause damage to the columns and as a result, it leads to irreparable issues.

In this project, the cracks were repaired first by using the injection method in concrete. Then, using FRP composites and for the first time in Iran, a concrete structure was reinforced by the EBROG method.

The EBROG method, which its implementation is the exclusive patent of the company, causes the debonding process to be delayed and the section load-carrying capacity to be practically improved to the failure point of the fiber.

Retrofitting plan, presented by the technical team of Kooshe Sazan Mana to strengthen the capitals of Shahid Shahmoradi Bridge, has increased the strength of this concrete structure to an acceptable level and the structure has found high resistance against various environmental effects so that after several years of implementation strengthening plan, the slightest failure has not been seen in these column capitals.
