<\/i><\/i><\/span>Challenges<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

\u00a0As is mentioned, the E1 foundation had experienced severe vibrations during its operation due to the vibration of the equipment on it.\u00a0These vibrations had led to cracking of the foundation body.\u00a0On the other hand, there are various corrosion factors in the environment around this foundation.\u00a0In addition to the mentioned technical problems, access to this foundation was also very difficult due to the narrow width of the corridors. On the other hand, the possibility of executive operations in this foundation was possible only in limited hours of the year and during the annual Shutdown.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Solutions<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

In order to solve the problems mentioned above, a plan was prepared using steel-jacket retrofitting. Before applying the steel jacket, the damaged concrete was returned to its initial condition using special epoxy resins and mortars. Also, the execution schedule and material supply were adjusted so that all executive operations could be performed during the annual shutdown.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Results<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

The retrofitting plan was finally able to minimize the existing vibrations by strengthening the foundation. Also, the concrete was also protected against corrosion by applied coatings.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
